Lots of Peppers
I think peppers are just about my favorite thing to grow. So many sizes and colors and flavors. They are just so gorgeous. After fighting all summer to keep them growing, I still think I got enough to use through the winter. I have many pints pickled, these I am going to freeze which gives me about 20 lbs in the freezer with 50 lbs of tomatoes and they are still coming until the first frost.
The peppers in the picture are: atris, bell, mini bell, banana, sweet gypsy, marbles, mohawk, and sweet pickles:

Cooper, Colt, Leilani and Caleb all lived through Hurricane Ike. The worse damage Cooper got was lots and lots of leaves and debris in his pool and yard. You can tell by the pic his pool is now a beautiful green. Apparently the leaves are dying the pool their color. He also lost some of his biggest banana trees and one palm has fallen over into the pool. Cooper's Trailblazer also got a crack in the windshield. All in all they came out in great shape when you consider the ferocity of the storm. And of course they have no electricity like about 100% of the Texas coast in that area.
Colt on the other hand has no idea if he has anything left of his stuff as his apartment is on the first floor. He doesn't even know at this time if he has a college left. Galveston just looks devastated as far as the video being shown on the news.
The college is posting on its website that they are evaluating what to do and the school will be closed all next week. The contingency plan will be to send the students to College Station if worse comes to worse.
